A private inspection agency the town has approved does the electrical inspection, as for homes. The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office separately handles fire alarm and emergency lighting. Emergency lights must run for at least 90 minutes, and emergency generators must pick up the load within 10 seconds, with testing done annually.
