No professional advice

The information on our website — including blog posts, FAQ answers, and service descriptions — is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional electrical, engineering, or legal advice. Do not rely on website content alone to make decisions about your electrical system. Always consult with a licensed electrician — including us — for your specific situation.

Contact forms are inquiries, not contracts

Submitting a contact or quote-request form on our website is an inquiry only. It does not create a contract, guarantee service availability, or constitute a binding agreement of any kind. A contract for electrical services is only formed when both parties agree to a written scope and price, as described in Section 5.

Service area

We serve Nassau County, New York City’s five boroughs (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island), Suffolk County, and Westchester County. We reserve the right to decline any job outside our standard service area or beyond our licensed scope of work.

Service availability

We make reasonable efforts to respond to all inquiries within 1 hour during business hours and to schedule work promptly. However, we cannot guarantee immediate availability for all jobs. Emergency service availability depends on technician scheduling and geographic factors.

Right to refuse service

We reserve the right to decline any job at our sole discretion, including work that would require us to violate applicable electrical codes, safety standards, or our licensing terms.

05

Estimates, Scope of Work, and Pricing

On-site assessment required

We do not provide binding price quotes over the phone or by email before assessing the job in person. Electrical work requires an on-site evaluation to determine actual scope, materials, and permit requirements. Any ballpark figures provided verbally or in writing before a site assessment are estimates only and not binding.

Written scope and price

Before any work begins, we provide you with a written scope of work and a fixed price or not-to-exceed estimate. No work commences until you have reviewed and agreed to the written scope and price.

Change orders

If conditions discovered during work require a material change to the agreed scope (for example, discovering unexpected wiring conditions inside a wall), we will stop work, notify you, and obtain your written approval for any additional work and cost before proceeding. We do not perform out-of-scope work without your authorization.

Price validity

Written estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless stated otherwise. Material and labor costs may change after that period.

06

Scheduling and Cancellations

Scheduling

Appointments are scheduled by mutual agreement following a site assessment or phone consultation. We will confirm all appointments by phone or message. We make every reasonable effort to keep scheduled appointments and to notify you promptly if circumstances require rescheduling.

Customer cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify us as early as possible — at least 24 hours in advance where practicable. Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in our declining to schedule future work.

Access to property

You agree to provide our technicians with safe, unobstructed access to the work area and, where required, to the electrical panel, meter, and service entrance. If access is not available at the agreed appointment time, we may need to reschedule and reserve the right to charge a visit fee for wasted travel time at our discretion.

Emergency calls

For emergency electrical calls, response times depend on technician availability and location at the time of the call. We do not guarantee a specific arrival time for emergency calls, though we make every effort to respond as quickly as possible.

07

Payment Terms

Payment methods

We accept payment by cash, check, and major credit/debit cards. Payment is taken in person — we do not accept online payments through our website.

Payment timing

Payment is due upon completion of the work unless a different arrangement is agreed in writing in advance. For large or multi-phase projects, we may require a deposit or progress payments as stated in the written scope of work.

Late payment

Invoices not paid within 30 days of the due date may be subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) on the outstanding balance, or the maximum rate permitted by New York State law, whichever is lower. We reserve the right to suspend ongoing work on a project where payment for completed work is overdue.

Disputes

If you dispute any portion of an invoice, notify us in writing within 10 days of receipt. We will work with you in good faith to resolve the dispute. Undisputed portions of an invoice remain due on their normal payment date.

No online payments
All Done Electric Works does not process payments through its website. If you receive any request to pay via our website, this is not from us — please contact us immediately.
08

Permits and Inspections

Electrical work in New York State — including Nassau County and New York City — often requires permits and inspections from local building departments. As a licensed contractor, we are committed to code-compliant work.

Permit responsibility

We will advise you on whether your project requires a permit. Where a permit is required, we can obtain it on your behalf (permit fees are typically passed through at cost). The scope of work provided to you will state whether a permit is included.

Inspection requirement

Where a permit is obtained, an inspection by the relevant authority (Nassau County Building Department, NYC DOB, village building department, etc.) is required before the job is closed. We will coordinate the inspection and be present where required. You are responsible for any re-inspection fees resulting from conditions not caused by our work.

Work without permits

We do not perform work that requires a permit without obtaining one. Requests to perform permitted work without pulling a permit will be declined. This protects you — unpermitted electrical work can void homeowner’s insurance and create liability in property sales.

PSEG Long Island coordination

Service upgrades require coordination with PSEG Long Island (the utility). We manage this coordination on your behalf. Utility processing times are outside our control and may affect project timelines.

09

Workmanship Warranty

All Done Electric Works warrants that all work performed will be carried out in a professional, workmanlike manner in accordance with applicable New York State and local electrical codes in effect at the time of the work.

Labor warranty

We provide a 1-year warranty on labor from the date of job completion. If a defect in our workmanship causes a problem within that period, we will return and correct it at no charge.

Materials and fixtures

Materials and fixtures installed are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, which we will facilitate where possible. We do not provide an independent warranty on materials beyond the manufacturer’s coverage.

Warranty exclusions

Our labor warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or modification of our work by any party other than us
  • Problems resulting from pre-existing conditions not caused by or related to our scope of work
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage resulting from acts of God, flooding, storm, fire, or other events beyond our control
  • Work performed by other contractors on or adjacent to our scope of work after completion
  • Failure to follow our post-job maintenance instructions, if any

Limitation of Liability

Please read this section carefully — it limits our liability to you.

Website use

Our website and all content on it are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Your use of the website is at your sole risk.

Services

To the fullest extent permitted by New York State law, All Done Electric Works’ total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to our services — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific work that gave rise to the claim.

Consequential damages

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or our services — including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Pre-existing conditions

We are not liable for damage, failure, or injury resulting from pre-existing defects or conditions in your property’s electrical system, structure, or equipment that were not caused by our work and were not apparent at the time of our site assessment.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14

Dispute Resolution

Good-faith negotiation first

Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute by good-faith negotiation. Contact us using the details in Section 16. We will respond within 10 business days and make reasonable efforts to reach a mutually acceptable resolution.

New York Home Improvement Contractor rules

Electrical contracting work performed on residential properties in New York is subject to the New York Home Improvement Contractor rules where applicable. If you have a dispute about residential contracting work that we cannot resolve directly, you may contact:

  • Nassau County Department of Consumer Affairs — for disputes about residential contractor work in Nassau County
  • New York State Attorney General’s Office — for consumer protection complaints
  • New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection — for work performed within NYC

Mediation

If good-faith negotiation does not resolve the dispute, either party may request non-binding mediation through a mutually agreed mediator before resorting to litigation. The cost of mediation shall be shared equally unless the parties agree otherwise.
