An electrician installs, repairs and tests the wiring and equipment that carry power through a building: panels, breakers, circuits, outlets, switches, lighting, service equipment and low-voltage systems. A good one also finds hidden faults, sizes circuits to the load, pulls permits and gets the work inspected. Most of the skill is diagnosis, knowing why something failed before replacing anything.
